Santa Fe
Santa Fe is the capital of Santa Fe provice and a leading agroindustrial center of Argentina. It is located 480 km to the north of Buenos Aires, along the banks of the River Parana. It also enjoys easy access to the middle Parana islands. Santa Fe is vulnerable to floods. Architectural buildings are grouped around the city's centro historica where there are a handful of sights worth visiting: notably seventeenth century Iglesia Y Convento de San Francisco and the well organized Museo Etnografico y colonial Juan de Garay where there is a fine collection of artefacts recovered from the site of the original city of Santa Fe, at Cayasta. Also worth visiting is the zoo, the Grania La Esmeralda to the north of the city center. Plaza 25 de Mayo is the most interesting area to explore on foot. On the Plaza's north side, the twin-towered Catedral Metropolitana is also a national monument. Immediately southeast, Parque General Belgrano contains a cluster of colonial structural that are historical monuments and museums.
There are plenty of restaurants in Santa Fe, mostly within a few blocks of San Martin.
