Rosario, the birthplace of revolutionary leader Ernesto'Che' Guevara, is 325 km upstream from Buenos Aires on the west bank of the Parana. During the hot and humid summer, Rosarianos cool off on the popular riverfront or at nearby beaches. Discos and bars are rockin' on weekends.

The colossal and phallic Monumento Nacional a la Bandera (Monument to the Flag), just behind Plaza 25 de Mayo, contains the crypt of flag designer General Manuel BeIgrano.
