This is the main population center of the archipelago and the heart of the tourist industries It's a friendly town to chill out in.

Information Tourist information is on Av Charles Darwin, near Charles Binford. Banco del Pacifico changes money and traveler's checks at reasonable rates and has a MasterCard/Cirrus ATM. Tours can be paid for in US dollars or traveler's checks, The post office is near the harbor. The Red Mangrove Hotel, near the cemetery, rents sea kayaks, sailboards' and bikes. If you kayak over to the island of Caamano, remember you cannot land and the sun on the water gets brutal. Galapagos Discovery, near the park, rents surfboards and bikes.
