Bariloche

San Carlos de Bariloche, home to 100,000 city folk and beautifully situated on the shores of Lago Nahuel Huapi, attracts hikers, bikers, skiers and vacationing gaggles of boisi terous teenage school groups (these during summer and winter vacations). The name Bariloche comes from the Mapuche word Vuriloche meaning "people from behind the mountain". Tourism, both national and international, is the main economical activity of Bariloche, all year around. It's a great base for exploring Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi in which Bariloche is located where camping, white water rafting and re fishing are popular activities. Most important airlines of Argentina maintain regular flights to Bariloche, as well as some international lines from neighboring countries, especially during the ski season.
