Barcelona

Barcelona

The capital of Anzodtegui state, Barcelona was founded in 1671 by a group of Catalan colonists, who named the settlement after their hometown in Spain. Today it's a city of about 300,000 people and is gradually merging into a single urban sprawl with its dynamic young neighbor, Puerto La Cruz.

Central Barcelona has several leafy plazas and some colonial architecture. The historic quarter has been partly restored and whitewashed throughout, giving it a pleasant general appearance, even though ,he urban fabric is an architectural misha ash dating, from different periods.
