Banos

Banos

At an elevation of 1800m, Banos has a beautiful climate and is surrounded by lush green mountains offering good hiking opportunities. It is a popular gateway to the jungle via Puyo and Misahualli, and its hot springs are cherished by Ecuadorian and foreign visitors alike. But behind Banos (and its tranquil feel) sits VoIcan Tungurahua, whose recent gaseous eruptions and increased seismic activity have dramatically affected the town.
